Ukraine war
"Slovenians too already at Ukrainian battlefields": Foreign fighters are also fighting on Ukrainian battlefields. Some countries have told openly that their citizens are fighting for Ukraine, some deny participation, others say they have no information on this. An expert told Delo Slovenians are fighting as well. (front page, 2-4)
PM visit to Ukraine
"United in support to Ukraine": The prime ministers of Slovenia, Poland and the Czech Republic met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Kyiv on Tuesday evening as the first foreign leaders to visit the Ukrainian capital since the Russian invasion. "Three prime ministers take a train to Kyiv": The prime ministers of Slovenia, Poland and the Czech Republic took a train to Kyiv to express solidarity with Ukraine. But as the city is becoming surrounded by Russian forces, it may very well happen that the officials will not be able to leave the city. (front page, 5 commentary 12)
Shelters in Ljubljana
"Shelters could be better maintained": The shelters managed by the Ljubljana municipality and public buildings are in good condition, but those in housing complexes have not been properly maintained or have even been rearranged to serve some other purposes. (front page, 8)
Food safety
"Are we going to be hit by record high food prices as well?": The price of beef has been rising since last November and has never been this high, pork is costlier and the prices of grain have skyrocketed. (front page, 2)

Fuel prices regulation
"Govt ordered fuel retailers to operate at a loss": Fuel retailer MOL has already removed premium diesel from sale because its sale is no longer commercially viable after the government capped the prices of fuel. MOL does not exclude the possibility of disruptions in supply. (front page, 2-3)
Tourism
"How will the war in Ukraine and inflation affect tourism in the spring": Just as the Covid pandemic started to wane, the news of the war in Ukraine hit, and prices went up. Tourism services providers are most concerned by the latter. (front page, 4)
The state of Russian economy
"How close to default is Russia and what are the options": The Russian economy is in trouble because of the war in Ukraine and related economic sanctions. The country may become insolvent on 15 April. (front page, 10-11)

PM visit to Ukraine
"Janša's journey to Kyiv": The prime ministers of Slovenia, Poland and the Czech Republic travelled to Ukraine yesterday without the mandate of the EU, but they did inform Brussels of the trip. The first visit by foreign officials to Ukraine since the Russian attack was met with approval but it also opens many security and political questions. (front page, 2-3)
Food self-sufficiency
"Self-sufficiency at the forefront again": Trucks transporting Hungarian wheat have again crossed the borders. Slovenia is to receive all its orders, but the situation on the market remains uncertain.
Energy
"They don't want another unit 6": Velenje is looking for a second source of heating but the people do not want an oversized facility. (front page, 23)
Hungary
"Two pre-election Hungaries": Rallies against Viktor Orban and rallies supporting him filled the centre of Budapest yesterday. Opposition leader Peter Marki-Zay called for unity, warning that Orban will take the country to the wrong side of history. (front page, 7)
