Economic Mirror: 3.5 Percent GDP Growth Expected in 1997

Slovenia's gross domestic rose by 3.8 percent in this year's third quarter over last year and by 2.9 percent in the first half over the same period last year. Economic growth improved in the second quarter over the first, although it will probably come short of the four percent target announced this spring. Preliminary estimates suggest a 3.5 percent annual GDP growth in 1997, the government Office for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development writes in the latest edition of its monthly bulletin, the Economic Mirror.
