Italy's Senate Backs Ratification of European Agreement for Slovenia

Trieste, 8 October - SENATE/EUROPE/AGREEMENT/RATIFICATION
Italy's upper house of the parliament, the Senate, approved the ratification bill of the Europe Agreement between Slovenia and the European Union during its sitting on Tuesday afternoon. National Alliance senators voted against the bill, but said they did not intend to obstruct the passage of the proposed law. The bill was tabled to the Senate unexpectedly as its foreign policy committee approved the bill only a week ago, the daily Primorski dnevnik reported Wednesday.
