Parliamentary Speaker Podobnik Meets with Swedish Parliament Delegation

Ljubljana, 13 October - The Swedish parliament delegation headed by Parliamentary Speaker Birgitte Dahl met with Slovene Speaker of Parliament Janez Podobnik on Monday afternoon. Podobnik drew attention to the increasing role of national parliaments in establishing international ties. The national parliaments pass legislation and ratify agreements adopted at the EU level, Speaker of Parliament Dahl pointed out. The Swedish delegation met also with Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek and Foreign Minister Boris Frlec.
