National Museum Slovenia Takes Part in Napoleone e Campoformido 1797 Exhibition

The National Museum of Slovenia is taking part in an exhibition in Italy marking the 200th anniversary of military and political events of the times of Napoleon Bonaparte. The exhibition Napoleone e Campoformido 1797 opened on 11 October in villa Manin in the town of Passarian in the province of Friuli Venezia Giulia, close to which a peace treaty was signed on 17 October 1797 that ended the 1st coalition war. The event marks the end of a period and a changed political geography of Europe, as the war brought ruin to the Venetian Republic. 1997 also marks 200 anniversary of first direct contacts of the Slovene nation with the French.
