Borštnik Meeting Theatre Festival Opens in Maribor

The 32nd Borštnik Theatre Festival (BS), the traditional contest festival and the overview of the achievements of Slovene theatres, opened in Maribor Friday evening. During the ten days of the festival, which is to wind up on 26th October, five performances are also to be given in the accompanying part, and about 20 stage productions from diverse genres and areas. Following the opening ceremony and the speech delivered by the Minister of Culture Jožef Školč, the Slovene Theatre from Trieste (SSG) gave a performance, presenting the comedy entitled Africa (Afrika ali na svoji zemlji; the author and director Boris Kobal), one of the eight performances in the contest part on the programme of this year's festival.
