Kučan: New Millenium - Challenge to Peace, to Civilization of Peace

A new millennium is a challenge to peace, an opportunity for a civilization of peace, cooperation and mutual understanding. We will need to understand and recognize the causes for all the turmoils in the world, and commit ourselves to their elimination. Peace is not merely the absence of war, it is the elimination of the causes of war, Slovenia's President Milan Kučan said in his introductory address on the second day of the founding session of the Peres Peace Institute Tuesday in Tel Aviv.
