7.1 Percent ILO Unemployment in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 29 October - Unemployment rate in Slovenia remained level with 1996 in 1997, with the proportion of persons in employment reaching the highest level since 1993, according to preliminary results of the National Statistical Office labour market survey for 1997 2nd quarter. Activity rate and employment/population ratio were the highest for the 25-49 age group, amounting to 90.4 and 85.1 percent respectively. The ILO unemployment rate was highest among young persons, in the 15-24 age group, amounting to 17.4 percent, down from 18.8 percent in end 1996.
