Time is running out for filing presidential candidacies

Ljubljana, 29 October - SLOVENIA/PRESIDENTIAL/ELECTION
Presidential aspirants can submit their candidacies until Wednesday midnight to join the race for the November 23 election. Of the 15 announced candidacies, only three have been formally submitted so far, by Bogomir Kovač, incumbent president Milan Kučan and Franc Miklavčič. Jože Bernik, Tone Peršak and Marjan Cerar are also expected to file their candidacies before the deadline provided they muster the required support from voters or political parties.
