Kras fire
"They are still searching for ways to pay our reward to firefighters": The Firefighting Association estimates some 11,000 firefighters were involved in the firefighting operation in the Kras region in the past 11 days. A financial reward has been promised to them, but the details are not clear yet. (front page, 3)

Pelješac bridge
"Infrastructural project of the century": The bridge connecting the Pelješac peninsula in Croatia with the mainland will open tonight with a special ceremony. (front page, 5)

Word champion in discus throwing
"Čeh: There was a competition and I won": Discus thrower Kristjan Čeh, who won the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, US, says he has still not quite comprehended what happened. "There was a competition and I won," the 23-year-old told the press. (front page, 19)

Kras fire
"Lessons of the worst fire in our history": Almost 4,000 hectares of land were affected by the worst fire in Slovenia's history. In eight days, more than 10,000 volunteer and professional firefighters fought the blaze along with 1,250 members of various support teams. (front page, 3)

Fish die-off
"There will be no fish in Mali Graben for the next ten years": A massive fish die-off occurred on Saturday in Mali Graben, a river canal of the Gradaščica river in Ljubljana. Around a tonne and a half of fish are dead, according to the Barje Angling Club. (front page, 9)

Interest rates
"EURIBOR reaches 10-year peak": The paper looks at how much the monthly instalments of loans with variable interest rate have risen so far and how much they are expected to rise further. (front page, 2-3)
