Summer film season starts at Museum Plaza

Ljubljana, 8 August - A screening of Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator on Monday evening will lift the curtain on a series of events organised at the Museum Plaza on Metelkova Street that will include mini festivals of short film and videos, and debates about the present and future of print media.

The Great Dictator will be followed on Tuesday by Tresk #13, a festival of music videos organised by the Slovenian Cinematheque in collaboration with Radio Študent.

A day later, the three-day festival Summer on the Silver Screen and between the Covers will examine through film and debates how print media are adapting in a digital-first world.

Orson Wells's Citizen Kane, Xavier Giannoli's Lost Illusions and Peter Weir's The Year of Living Dangerously will serve as a reference point for debates on the state of media and journalism.

The summer series will draw to a close with the Ljubljana Short Film Festival (FeKK) with a selection of new films from the Balkans, a retrospective of established authors, workshops and lectures.
