Ljubljana, 8 November - The government unveiled its long-awaited saving measures package, formulated by the governing coalition in the process of preparing economic and social policies and the 1998 budget. The measures are expected to foster economic growth, reduce public expenditure and provide a more suitable definition of welfare and family policies. In this way they are to help establish a stable economic policy and public finance framework as a basis for continued economic growth and competitive integration of the Slovene economy to the European Union.
