Slovene Economists Hold Traditional Assembly
Bled, 14 November - About 230 Slovene economists and businessmen gathered Friday at Bled for their traditional two-day meeting. The opening address was given by Deputy Prime Minister Marjan Podobnik, who said the current economic situation in Slovenia was not good and called for stronger economic growth. He also stressed that the government was firm and would hold on through its entire term in office. Reforms will be gradual but firm, said Podobnik, adding resolution of certain issues was vital for Slovenia's self-conscious entry into the European Union.
