Ljubljana, 15 November - The government Tuesday presented a package of 19 austerity measures expected to cut budget expenditure by SIT 70 billion and bring SIT 30 billion of additional revenues. Finance Ministry State Secretary Andrej Engelman stressed the 1998 budget would have no actual basis if these austerity measures had not been introduced. It would be best, he said, if the government submitted them to parliament together with the 1998 draft budget.
