Slovene Agriculture To Carry Lion's Share of Adjustment to EU Standards

Bled, 24 November - The Slovene Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food has worked out a draft proposal requiring SIT 42 billion form the 1998 budget. But we are well aware that there will be tough negotiations and expect cuts on required funds, as it happened last year when the Ministry of Agriculture asked for SIT 32 billion but was only to get SIT 23,5 billion form the budget, Slovene Agriculture Minister Ciril Smrkolj told a news conference on Monday on the occasion of a traditional conference of the National Agricultural Advisory Service (KSSS) entitled Adjusting the Slovene Agriculture to EU Policies.
