Education
"Alarm at schools over lack of teachers": A third of Slovenian primary school teachers and a half of those teaching in secondary schools are over 50 years old. They will need to be replaced in 15 years at the latest, but there are virtually no teachers under 30. (front page, 3)

Mercator
"New ideas about buying Mercator": The Fortenova group, which owns Mercator, has found itself in a new episode of ownership issues after an Arabian owner recently entered the group. (front page, 8)

Energy
"The challenge is to compete with companies in the EU": The state will provide aid to energy intensive companies so that they will be able to buy a megawatt hour for EUR 130, Infrastructure Minister Bojan Kumer has said. But the price for companies depends on many things. (front page, 8)

RTV Slovenija
"Drop in viewers concealed until referendum": The management of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija has ignored inquiries about ratings until the referendum on the RTV act. A day after the vote, the data, showing drops in ratings for both TV channels and the website, was finally published. (front page, 2)

National Council
"Can National Council get its first woman president?": The new National Council is expected to be confirmed today and the first session is scheduled for 12 December. The list of those interested in the post of the council's president includes a 37-year-old Jasmina Opec Vöröš from the Prekmurje region. (front page, 3)

Loans
"Ten tips for buying apartments and hiring loans": The paper offers advice on what people who are taking out a loan to buy an apartment should be mindful of in the face of inflation and rising interest rates. (front page, 6-7)

Inflation

Local election
"Ahead of finale": The last debate hosted by Večer and Radio Maribor ahead the second round of the local election was dominated by incumbent Mayor Saša Arsenovič, who is being challenged by former Mayor Franc Kangler. He asked whether people want to enter 2023 or go back to 2013. (front page, 18-19, 23-24)

Sport
"No team in Maribor?": The Slovenian Football Association started selling a package of tickets for all five Euro 2024 qualifying matches at a reduced price with seats for all the matches in Ljubljana's Stožice Stadium and none in Maribor's Ljudski Vrt. (front page, 14)
