Rode: American Slovenes Want to Remain part of Slovene National Body

Slovenes living in the USA and Argentine want to remain part of the Slovene national body, Ljubljana Archbishop and Slovene Metropolitan Franc Rode told Wednesday's press conference after he returned form a several-week visit to the Slovenes there. Apart form holding several meetings in New York, Rode attended a blessing of the renewed Church of St. Cyril and Slovene Religious and Cultural Centre on Manhattan, the first Slovene centre in North America run by Slovene Franciscans since its beginnings (construction works started in 1916). This centre is "a piece of Slovenia in New York", it has not only religious but also cultural and even national significance for Slovenia.
