"Strike in January": A survey in which most members of the largest doctors' trade union took part showed doctors are unhappy with the government's latest pay offer and the health minister's attitude, so they opted for a strike. (front page, page 3)

Power group bailout
"Half a billion without real guarantees": Despite high electricity prices the state-owned power group HSE will incur a substantial loss this year, having sold more electricity last year than it will generate this year at relatively low prices.
