Political geography
"Right limited to rural parts of country": Slovenia having held three elections, this year has drawn the line between urban and rural parts of the country only more clearly. The geographical distribution of votes for the Freedom Movement is similar to that of the Social Democrats (SD) and the Modern Centre Party (SMC) when they won elections, while support for presidential candidate Anže Logar overlapped with support for the Democrats (SDS) and New Slovenia (NSi). Winter sports
"Quintet of podiums for Slovenian athletes": Slovenian athletes won five podiums this weekend: ski jumper Anže Lanišek won Friday's competition in Titisee-Neustadt and second place on Saturday, snowboarder Tim Mastnak was second in parallel slalom, skier Žan Kranjec was third in giant slalom and ski jumper Urša Bogataj was third on Sunday. "Judicial palace project buried": The Justice Ministry has halted plans for a new building to house all courts located in Ljubljana, which are now dispersed throughout the city. Among other things, the ministry cited lack of funds as reason to halt the process. The project was estimated at EUR 135 million. (front page, page 2)

"Is Russian gas cap going to work?": Russia is prepared for the EU's price cap, and has been getting ready for the measure for months, buying over a hundred tankers and several supertankers. (front page, page 4)

Funds for HSE
