Mental health
"Holidays bring distress to many": Many people have high expectations for the holidays and are left disappointed. Last year EUR 11.8 million worth of antidepressants was prescribed in Slovenia. The country faces a severe shortage of psychiatrists, which means patients must rely on drugs alone. (front page, page 3)

"Plan to buy 8x8 vehicles": The paper learned from unofficial sources that Slovenia plans to buy US General Dynamics 8x8 vehicles in the place of the German-made Boxers. (front page, page 2)

"Mijatović declares fight for Euro 2024": The national Football Association's main goal for next year is for the national men's team to make it to the European Championship in Germany in 2024. (front page, page 18)

"Finally selection process begins for Dragomer motorway junction": The motorway company DARS received four bids for the construction of a motorway junction at Dragomer, west of Ljubljana. The bids range from EUR 28.5 million to EUR 34.4 million, the lowest having been submitted by the Litija-based company Trgograd. (front page, page 8)

Labour market
"Seven labour market forecasts for 2023": Hiring will slow down due to the slowing of the economy and the shortage of workers. Meanwhile, salaries will rise due to inflation and the planned public sector pay hike. (front page, pages 2 and 3)

Energy sector
"What's with Golob's 'million bonus' for 2021?": Gen I, the energy company previously run by Slovenia's current Prime Minister Rober Golob, has postponed its AGM several times. The company now said it would take place before the end of the year. The agenda will also include the 2021 bonus for Golob, which would allegedly reach EUR 1 million. Golob promised he would give it to charity. (front page, page 6)

"Open border": In just over a week, the border between Slovenia and Croatia will open, as Croatia enters the Schengen zone 15 years after Slovenia took over the control of the EU's Schengen border. (front page, pages 2 and 3)

Charity
"Aid for little fighter Eva": Four-year-old Eva has a rare genetic disease impacting her mobility. A surgery in the US would give her the chance to walk and the Vilijen Julijan charity has launched a donor campaign to collect EUR 100,000 to cover the cost of the surgery and other related expenses. (front page, page 20)
