Večer's staff backed by colleagues

Ljubljana/Maribor, 30 December - The Trade Union of Journalists (SNS) and the in-house trade union backed on Friday the calls of Večer staff against the lay-offs planned at the Maribor-based daily newspaper. They urged the owners to consider the interests of the workers and readers, while calling on the government to draw up measures to protect and support quality printed media.
