Ex-Yugoslavia's Markets Increasingly Important for Slovene Exporters

Ex-Yugoslavian markets, along with those in western Europe, are becoming increasingly important for Slovene exporters, according to a survey carried out by the Slovene Export Agency (SID) in October among 133 export companies. Also increasing is the number of demands by foreign buyers for deferred payment, which increases nonpayment risks that are insured by SID. Exporters want SIT to play a more active role in funding exports through currency clause loans or loans expressed in the deal's exchange rate. The agency will consequently strengthen its activities in these fields.
