Joker Out to represent Slovenia at Eurosong with Carpe Diem
Ljubljana, 5 February - Carpe Diem, the song with which Joker Out will represent Slovenia at this year's Eurovision song contest in Liverpool, premiered on TV Slovenija last evening.
The immensely popular five-member band from Ljubljana made the song in a studio in Hamburg, Germany, with Slovenian producer Žare Pak and shot a video in Ljubljana.
On yesterday's TV show Mission Liverpool, the band said Eurosong had left a mark on their childhood so performing at this song contest will be a children's dream come true.
Host Miša Molk said that Joker Out, established in 2016, is the best selling Slovenian band of 2022.
It was its "quality, ambition and catching easygoingness" that prompted TV Slovenija to choose it as the country's representatives at the Eurovision, she added.
This is only the second thime that the public broadcaster had opted to invite a band of its choice to be the country's representative at the Eurosong competition.
Joker Out will sing Carpe Diem, a dance tune, in the semi-final on 11 May, hoping to make it to the 13 May final.
The band said this is their most Eurovision-like song to date, and sends out a message against "hatred".
