Vika Potočnik and Anton Jeglič to Run for Mayor of Ljubljana in Second Round

After 99.98 percent of the ballots have been counted, Vika Potočnik (LDS) is in the lead with 33.72 percent of the vote. She is followed by Anton Jeglič (independent candidate), who won 22.74 percent in Sunday's by-election for the mayor of Ljubljana, according to preliminary data. As none of the candidates garnered majority, that is over 50 percent of the vote in the first round, Potočnik and Jeglič will enter a run-off scheduled for 11 January 1998.
