Review of Slovene Economy in 1997

In 1997 Slovene economy had to operate without the state budget. The government prepared a draft budget in mid-summer, while the parliament passed it less than a month before the end of the year. In the current fiscal year, which has been prolonged to the end of January 1998, expenses are to amount to 743 billion Slovene tolars, while revenues are to total 710 billion tolars, which means a deficit of 33 billion tolars, or 1.2 percent of GDP.
