Slovenia Remembers the 7th Anniversary of Plebiscite
Ljubljana, 26 December - INDEPENDENCE/DAY
Slovenia is celebrating the Independence Day, thus remembering 26 December 1990, the day when the official results of the plebiscite on independence were announced. The plebiscite was held on 23 December 1990 to decide whether Slovenia should become an independent and sovereign country. It was attended by 93.2 percent of eligible voters, with 88.2 percent voting for independence.
