Delo: Janez Drnovšek - I see no need for pulling down monuments, neither for erecting them

Ljubljana, 27 December - I remain a moderate optimist and believe we can reach an acceptable compromise that would allow us to achieve public finance and macroeconomic goals through agreement rather then force. Strikes are a hazard. What I find more likely is that we shall see individual strikes rather than a general one, which would ultimately produce negative results for all of us. It is most certainly not desired by the government and I believe the trade unions or workers should not want it either, Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek said in a New Year's interview for daily Delo.
