Ljubljana Stock Exchange: SBI Index Gains Over 200 Points This Year

The Slovene Stock Exchange Index (SBI) reached 1396.20 points on Wednesday, 24 December, thus exceeding last year's closing figure (1183.29) by 212.91 points. The number of securities quoted on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange in 1997 recorded a considerable rise; shares and bonds at the stock exchange were up form 44 at the beginning of the year to 59, with the number of shares and bonds at the off-the exchange organized market C (OTC) increasing from 40 to 68.
