Social Security Scheme for the Elderly Presented at the Ministry of Labour

Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs gave a news conference Monday to present a social security scheme for elderly persons in Slovenia in the period until 2005, which was passed by the government at its last session this year. According to Minister Tone Rop, the scheme is designed to provide 3800 new beds in old people's homes until 2005; of which 1500 in public institutions, 1500 in concessions and 800 in private homes without concessions. The programme gives a special attention to the home care, the most humane form of care for elderly persons, according to Rop.
