30 km of Motorways Constructed and Opened to Traffic in 1997

197 km of motorways have been under construction on 17 sections of the east-west motorway in Slovenia since the implementation of the national motorway programme started in 1994. A total of 126 km have been opened to traffic so far, of which 30 km this year. Construction works are still under way on somewhat less than 71 km. The figures reveal that one third of the motorway running from east to west of Slovenia has been completed. Taking into account the sections currently under construction, a half of the Slovenia's priority motorway has been finished.
