Government Gives Thumbs Down to Hikes in Gas Prices

Ljubljana, 1 October - Representatives of the various ministerial departments presented several draft laws at a press conference following today's government session. These include draft laws concerning: protection against natural and other disasters; investment trusts and management companies; and a draft law focussing on the securities' market. However, the government refused a 19 per cent hike in refinery prices for gasoline and fuel oil, and a 30 per cent increase in prices for Diesel oil, suggested by the Lendava Nafta refinery.
