Economic Trends: Industrial Production Down 0.5 percent in November

Industrial production continued an upward trend in November 1997 for the fifth consecutive month, stocks did not increase too much and the demand rose due to exports. Nevertheless, businessmen's high expectations for the beginning of 1998 fell, according to December's issue of Economic Trends, a monthly published by the Economics Institute at the Ljubljana Faculty of Law. The growth rate of employment slowed down, leaving unemployment figures rather high. End-1997 saw a slowdown in prices, while public financial revenues pursued a gradual increase.
