Government Debates National Motorway Construction Programme Amendment and Gasoline Tolar Law
Ljubljana, 22 January - GOVERNMENT/SESSION/ROADS
Slovene government debated, in its session on Thursday, the National Motorway Construction Programme amendment, under which motorway construction in Slovenia would end in 2004. Investment value of motorway sections in the total length of 518.6 kilometers is US$ 3.8 billion, but the cost would rise to slightly over four billion US dollars if the preparation of project documentation and construction of certain national roads and motorway railway crossings are included in the programme, Minister of Transport and Communications Anton Bergauer told a news conference after the session. The government is expected to confirm the document and send it to parliament next week, when it is also to confirm the bill to provide funds for motorway construction, as set out in the national programme.
