Weekly Review from 17 through 23 January - Slovenia

Ljubljana, 24 January - Public attention in the past week focused heavily on the foreign policy field, in particular Slovenia's relations with neighbouring Croatia, both in the light of a meeting between Foreign Ministers Boris Frlec and Mate Granič in Otočec, southern Slovenia, where all outstanding issues between the countries were discussed, and debates and proceedings over the recent espionage incident on the Slovene-Croatian border and the removal of electronic equipment from the border point Trdinov vrh. From the preliminary report on the incident the government "could not finally establish whether it was an extreme case of negligence or an organized action against the interests of the state of Slovenia".
