Petrol Wants Nafta Lendava To Bay Back Floating Assets

Lendava-based oil refinery Nafta Lendava produced a record 51,768 tonnes of raw material in December 1997. The company last year fulfilled its business plan, cut production expenses and its labour force and rationalized organization. Nevertheless, it is still operating at a loss. Its business achievements from the past years and the rehabilitation process, that was successfully carried out in 1995, have failed to produce planned results because of the 1985 sale of new refinery equipment to China, price imbalances, an inappropriate price model and the fact that Nafta Lendava's owners, the state and oil company Petrol, have delayed decisions on a full-scale rehabilitation, Nafta Lendava reported.
