COE Parliamentary Assembly Approves Report on Developments in the FRY

The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly endorsed the report n. 7986 on the latest developments in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) and their influence on the Balkan region at its regular autumn seating Wednesday. The Assembly also passed an amendment proposed by the Slovene delegation attending the session. The amendment includes the COE view that the settlement of succession issues of former Yugoslavia is vital for normalization of relations between countries on the territory of disintegrated Yugoslavia, and that all five newly emerged countries are equal successors.
