Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from January 24 to 31

Ljubljana, 31 January - At its session on 29 January, the government of Slovenia passed the National Motorway Construction Programme Re-Balance, under which the total investment value of the 518.6 kilometers of motorway sections that have to be completed until 2004 is slightly over US$ 4 billion. To secure the necessary funds, the government also endorsed the draft gasoline tolar amendment bill, which proposes that the proportion of funds earmarked in gasoline prices for motorway construction should increase from the current 16 percent to 20 percent.
