Petrol's 1997 Results

Oil company Petrol's turnover increased by over 10 percent to approximately 121 billion Slovene tolars (SIT) last year. Its net profit is estimated to total SIT 3.2 billion, an almost 50-percent rise over 1996. The Petrol management board will suggest to the annual general meeting, likely to take place in September, to allocate a fifth of the company's earnings for dividends, or SIT 360 gross per dividend. The biggest Slovene oil company earmarked SIT 7 billion for investments. This year, however, the volume of investments is planned to go up to SIT 11 billion.
