Krško Modernisation According to Plans

Nuclear power plant Krško (NEK) has operated uninterrupted for 255 days since the last general overhaul that ended on 10 June 1997. It now operated at 98 percent of its capacity because of the precisely set stoppage for the general overhaul, scheduled for 25 April 1998, and used-up fuel bars. The plant will gradually reduce power to 80 percent over the coming months, NEK director general Stane Rožman said on Friday, stressing that stability of operation in 1997 proved the importance of rehabilitation in 1997.
