Ljubljana, 27 February - This week saw an epilogue to a demand voiced by the Slovene People's Party (SLS) urging Defence Minister Tit Turnšek to resign. The minister eventually offered his resignation to the premier. After having been called to step down by the SLS head committee several times - because he was objectively and politically responsible for the border incident on the Slovene-Croatian border - Turnšek explained his decision to step down by saying that he could not run the defence ministry without his party (SLS) supporting him.
