Chamber of Economy Chairmen of Slovenia and Kaernten on Bilateral Cooperation

Economic ties between Slovenia and Austria and between their border regions of Kaernten and Steirmark are very good and are continuing to develop, officials of the Chambers of Economy of Slovenia and regional chambers of economy of Kaernten and Steirmark said in a meeting Thursday that took place during the Austrian presentation at the Culinary Arts Fair in Ljubljana. The talks covered the issues of the joint Olympic games candidacy, Slovene efforts to join the European Union, aid from the Phare programme, transport permits, introduction of VAT and duty free shops. It was also agreed that chambers of economy from the Alps Adria community would hold a joint meeting on May 18 and 19.
