The National Assembly passed the 1998 national budget amounting to SIT 870 billion (US$ 5.0b), and the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDS) group of deputies submitted to Parliament a proposal that a constitutional indictment should be filed against Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek pertaining to a controversial secret Slovene-Israeli agreement signed in 1995.
