Gorenc Best Player of Group B Ice Hockey World Championship

Slovenia's Ice Hockey team secured second place in the Group B Ice Hockey World Championship with Friday's victory against Estonia 3:0 (1:0, 2:0, 0:0), qualifying for November's Group A qualifications. Slovene player Marjan Gorenc was named the Championship's most valuable player. Ukraine won the WC without defeats (14 points), Slovenia came second (11), Estonia third (7), Denmark fourth (7) United Kingdom fifth (6), Norway sixth (6) Poland seventh (5). Holland was the last with no points and will be replaced in Group B qualifications next year by Hungary.
