Government Preparing Laws on Obligatory and Voluntary Pensions Insurance

Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs will draw up two bills concerning the pensions reform, namely the basic pensions and disability insurance bill and the voluntary pensions insurance bill; In May, it will submit the bills to the government that is to introduce them in parliament by the end of May. Their adoption is expected by the end of this year. The bills are currently also subject to negotiations between parties and social partners, Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Tone Rop said in his lecture on the dilemmas posed by the pensions system reform, given at the financial trade show Kapital. Rop said an important breakthrough was achieved this week in reforming the pensions system.
