EU Commissioner Gradin on Border Control, Frauds and Asylum Policy in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 4 May - The EU guest and her aides assessed that Slovenia had made considerable progress in the fields of immigration, home affairs, justice and the protection of human rights, particularly in cracking down on crossing the border illegally, on drug trafficking and smuggling of human beings. Nevertheless, there are still some problems in the asylum policy, and the legal system is faced with delays, Slovene Minister of European Affairs Igor Bavčar told a news conference on Monday after his meeting with EU Commissioner Anita Gradin.
