180th Anniversary of Discovery of Postojna Cave Inner Parts

Postojna, 12 May - POSTOJNA/CAVE/ANNIVERSARY
Hundred and eighty years will pass this year since inner parts of the Postojna Cave, about 50 kilometers southwest of Ljubljana, have been discovered, which led to rapid development of science branches like speleology and speleobiology, and a tourist boom that left a strong mark on the nearby town of Postojna. To mark the occasion an expert meeting The Postojna Cave - New Discoveries will be held in Postojna on May 22 and 23 along with a number of cultural events.
