Velenje seen as suitable location for small modular nuclear reactors

Velenje, 13 March - A discussion in Velenje, home to the country's last active coal mine, explored the potential of the Šalek Valley and its energy infrastructure as a possible location for small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). Participants agreed this will however require a clear national strategy, and political, financial and social support.
