EMU Convergence Criteria to Affect also Would-Be EU Members

The formation of the European Monetary Union (EMU) and the introduction of the euro will bring about a number of changes in EU economies, while the efforts to meet the major five convergence requirements will greatly affect also the economies of Central European countries and aspirants for EU membership, Vladimir Lavrač of the Faculty of Economics said in his lecture at the conference on finance and brokering in Portoroz on Tuesday.
