Parliament Launches Discussion on Impeachment Motion against Premier Drnovšek

The National Assembly on Wednesday continues its regular session with the discussion on the Social Democratic Party (SDS) motion of impeachment of Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek before the Constitutional Court over alleged breach of the Constitution and statutes with regard to signing the disputed security agreement between Slovenia and Israel in early 1995. Initially, the reproaches and accusations of proposers were explained by SDS legislator Bogomir Špiletič, whereupon Prime Minister Drnovšek presented his stance on the allegations.
