Jobs for 56,000 Unemployed Provided by National Employment Office

The National Employment Office (NEO) gave a news conference Friday to present a report on its activities in 1997, when the Office managed to provide a job to 56,000 unemployed, a 2.6-percent rise over a year before. As many as 32,000 unemployed and some 8000 redundant workers participated in the employment schemes conducted by the Office, for which over SIT 47 billion was given by the government.
